I’m so excited to feature friend and fellow blogger Sloane Berrent – and her good friend Doug Campbell – and their innovative, purpose-driven and unbelievably cool birthday celebration project – Cause It’s My Birthday.
Most people think of their birthdays as a time of receiving.
But what could be bigger on your birthday than working to save the lives of others?
Cause It’s My Birthday (http://causeitsmybirthday.com/) is a 7-city tour to celebrate the 30th birthdays of Doug Campbell and Sloane Berrent and raise awareness and donations to purchase malaria nets to be distributed through Netting Nations (http://nettingnations.org/), a 501(c)3 organization.
Here’s a bit about the celebration: The birthday week and fundraiser is from October 3rd-9th with the first party in New York City and continuing to Miami, New Orleans, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and ending in Los Angeles.
And, it’s more than a birthday party – it’s using a birthday as a platform for change, and a chance to get involved.
100% of donations go towards the purchase and distribution of malaria nets & are tax-deductible through our nonprofit partner, Netting Nations, a 501(c)3 organization.
You can read more about Cause It’s My Birthday here.
And, for those of you in NYC, I’ll be going. Find out more about the event here. Would absolutely love it if you joined me.
You can also join Cause It’s My Birthday on Facebook and Twitter for ongoing updates from Sloane and Doug.
Personal shout out to Sloane and Doug: Both of you are amazing!
